The music-genre is modern jazz with rock tendencies played with respect for the acoustic as well as the electric traditions and at the same time with courage to make use of the elements, sounds and effects from rock music that break down aesthetics and conventional forms. Skylight Lounge is first and foremost Michael Dalgas’ project, but the music comes to life and gets it’s presence and nerve in a strong, collective sound produced by the five very talented young musicians in Skylight Lounge.
A sense of wholeness, strong personal expressions, energy and presence shine through in this orchestra, and the music speaks to a wide audience without loosing any aesthetic quality.
